He brings more than two decades of paediatric experience and has a broad clinical scope, caring for children from newborns through to adolescence. His interests include neonatal medicine, chronic conditions related to prematurity, and childhood developmental and behavioural concerns. He is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for children and believes in building strong, therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
He holds General and Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). In addition, he is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA), and has completed a Master of Leadership, Management and Education (MLMEd) from the University of Newcastle.
Having completed his medical and postgraduate paediatric training in India, Dr Khan moved to Australia to pursue advanced training in Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine, gaining extensive experience across Sydney and Newcastle before settling on the Central Coast in 2014.
Beyond clinical work, Dr Khan contributes to medical education and is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer with the School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Newcastle. He is also actively involved in health system improvement through his work on various committees with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), the Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC), and the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) within NSW Health.
Khan is a compassionate paediatrician dedicated to providing exceptional care for children and their families. With a wealth of experience and a genuine love for working with young patients, Khan understands that every child is unique and deserves personalised attention.
Known for his gentle approach, he creates a welcoming environment where children feel safe and comfortable. Khan takes the time to listen to both parents and children, ensuring that all concerns are addressed with empathy and understanding.
