About Dr Umesh Mishra

Dr Umesh Mishra is a highly skilled neonatal paediatrician with advanced training in neonatal-perinatal medicine, certified by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics & Child Health Division).

He is dedicated to providing comprehensive newborn and paediatric care at Westmead Hospital and in private practice at Westmead Specialist and Gosford Private Hospital.

With a particular focus on newborn growth, development and long-term outcomes, Dr Mishra is accredited to perform Bayley’s Developmental Assessment, a valuable tool for early identification and intervention of developmental concerns. His extensive training includes experience at some of Australia’s leading hospitals, such as Sydney Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Westmead Hospital, the Royal Hospital for Women, the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Currently, Dr Mishra is pursuing a PhD at the University of Sydney, where he is focusing on optimising neonatal care practices to enhance newborn outcomes. His passion for holistic well-being extends beyond medicine; he is a trained mindfulness teacher and actively engages in global charitable initiatives, including those in Australia.

Outside of his medical career, Dr Mishra enjoys listening to music, practising mindfulness and spending quality time with his family. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Bengali, which allows him to provide culturally sensitive and inclusive care for families from diverse backgrounds.

Dr Mishra’s blend of expertise, commitment to patient care and dedication to continuous learning make him a valuable asset to the paediatric community. His clinic focuses on babies and children up to five years of age, with some scope for behavioural concerns.
