On Tuesday afternoon, we received confirmation that Gosford Private Hospital (owned by Healthe Care) will cease providing maternity services as of Monday, 31 March 2025. To say we are devastated with this outcome is an understatement.
This is a significant shift for our practice and you, our valued patient. Unfortunately, this decision has been taken out of our control and we have had 24 hours to process this information and make sure our patients understand what is happening.
As a result of this decision by Gosford Private Hospital, from 31 March, all obstetric procedures will move to Gosford Hospital which operates within the NSW Health system.
We understand this will be confusing and disappointing for our patients. Rest assured, we are working with Gosford Hospital to understand how we will be working together going forward. We are also looking at other private options.
We want to make it clear to all our patients that your outpatient care in our clinic remains unchanged. Appointments will continue as normal through Intuition Private with no interruption to your current high level of care.
We understand that this situation may cause uncertainty, and we are committed to keeping you informed. As soon as we have more concrete information regarding birthing arrangements and options, we will communicate it to you.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have, and where we don’t have answer, we will investigate and come back to you with a response.
We are naturally conscious of the impact this news may have on you during this vulnerable time and ask that you please reach out to your individual doctor and/or midwife, if and when you need to. Please call us anytime on 4321 0500 to speak to our Patient Support Team.
Your health and well-being remain our top priority, and you will continue to receive the highest-quality care and support throughout your pregnancy. We will be in touch with more information soon.
Yours Sincerely,
Karina Wright, Business Manager, Intuition Private Obstetrics and Gynaecology on behalf of:
Dr Peta Skilbeck, Dr Mutayyab Shah, Dr Kelly Hankins, Dr Helen Manning, Dr Jini Mandapati, Dr Rajit Narayan.
