About Megan

Megan has been working in private practice for nearly 10 years and is passionate about what she does.

She believes it is a privilege to walk alongside people through times of difficulty and together find ways to change, heal, find clarity, move forward and to enjoy life. For Megan the relationship that she establishes with those she works with is the most crucial factor and her aim is always first and foremost to provide a safe and positive therapeutic relationship. Megan has a particular interest in peri-natal issues (for both women and men), anxiety disorders, working with older adults and navigating life transitions.

Managing life changes can often be challenging, none more so than on the family front. Starting a family, a growing family, fertility or health issues, relationship stressors, difficulties with pregnancy, birth or parenting can all be issues that trigger stress (for both women and men) which can affect your mental health. Working with a psychologist on these or other challenges is an effective way of improving and maintaining your wellbeing. This has benefits for you as an individual but also for those around you that you love. Being able to look after your own health (mentally and physically) means it is far more likely that you are able to respond to the needs of others in the way that you would like to.

Megan works from a wide variety of modalities in order to tailor tools and strategies to each unique person. The specific therapeutic frameworks from which she works include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Strength Based Solution Focussed approaches.

Megan provides therapeutic support and assistance for a wide variety of issues including:

  • Peri-natal issues (for both women and men)
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Grief and loss
  • Adjustment issues
  • Life stress
  • Trauma (including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and childhood trauma)
  • Other anxiety and mood disorders (such as Bipolar or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

Megan is a registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society.
