What to Expect - from the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book is an app which guides you through your pregnancy day-by-day and week-by-week, providing information relevant to your stage of pregnancy. The information includes baby’s growth and development, videos, forums, articles, tips and much more.
It’s free- but like most free apps, it does contain ads.
It’s a great all-rounder to enjoy throughout your entire pregnancy- especially for your first baby. Karina would visit this app most days when she was pregnant! The app provides pregnancy tips based on your due date for example, how to cope with morning sickness during the first trimester.
It measures baby's weekly physical growth compared to fruit sizes- it’s pretty fun knowing that your baby is the size of a blueberry, plum, mango or rock melon!
The app has a daily countdown to your due date (and a tracker detailing how far along you are).
There's a weekly pregnancy video (each lasting around 2 minutes) which explains your baby's recent development, for example week 22 shows your baby has grown eyelashes! Karina specifically remembers being excited for Fridays so she could watch the new video.
Once your baby is born, you receive a daily chat forum email (offering parenting guidance, advice and the opportunity to ask questions among other Mum's with babies of a similar age).
Regardless of the fact that she loves her fruit, on a few occasions Karina had to actually Google the name of the fruit which her baby’s size was compared to (it’s an American app), so best to brush up on your international fruit trivia knowledge!
The app is available with both Apple and Android- so happy downloading for (almost) everyone.
This pregnancy app was Karina’s absolute favourite and included so much relevant content that she’d usually spend around at least 20-30 minutes a day browsing it!Back to app reviews
